So much more than just football!
At the Western Bulldogs, we pride ourselves on being the Community Club of the AFL. As such, we see education and training the way in which we can honour our commitment, by building resources, achieving goals and educating people, to make a positive difference for all.
We embrace 4 key themes within our initiatives;
- Healthier Communities- through nutrition & sport integrated with our Bulldogs Friendly Schools.
- Sustainable Communities- energy efficient building practices used in the redevelopment of Whitten Oval. Rainwater collection to help maintain the oval grounds and an ongoing partnership with Origin Energy in active smart lighting throughout the facility.
- Engaged Communities- through our Settlement Grant Program we help immigrants to integrate with the “local” culture via a range of sporting activities from cricket, cycling, basketball & swimming through to the national code of Australian Football.
- Smarter Communities- the Education and training aspect of SpiritWest Services. “Fresh” an alternative approach to school for youth experiencing difficulties with mainstream education. Also our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering nationally recognised training qualifications for those already in the work force.
